This piece embodies ethereal swimming in the ocean with schools of fish passing by in fantastic formations. Imagine you’re snorkeling and this small school of fish start dancing around you. They’re discovering you as much as you’re discovering them. You let them pass because you’re a good steward of the sea and leaving no trace. This painting, finished in 2026, is acrylic on reclaimed canvas with a crocheted frame reminiscent of traditional seafarer gear. I’ve designed these crocheted frames so the piece may be hung directly for display without the need for expensive frames. May this piece serve as an ode to sea life beauty but the commitment to conservation for these beautiful ecosystems.
