Green Flower Tiles

Description

This is an abstract geometric painting of flowers in the center of an interlocking quilt block pattern. The tradition of quilting has long histories in American culture to mark significant events, communicate in code, or tell stories. This piece is inspired by that tradition as well as abstract line art. Several flowers are represented in minimal shapes at the center of each block similar to tiles in grandma’s kitchen. This painting, completed in 2026, is acrylic on canvas panel. A canvas panel is flatted than a stretched canvas and easier to frame.
